You are not the first to make this journey. This journey has been happening since human beings stood on two legs and maybe earlier than that. After all, it was the life force that brought us up to stand.

Over vast stretches of time, human beings have been communicating the whys and hows of this journey. We find variations in myths, fairy tales and poetry from all over the world.

We find stories of conflict, old ways defeated, and new worlds created in ancient buildings, frescoes, and cave paintings. The symbols of this journey are in the earth, laid to ground and stone by those who have come before and made their way.

We have our dreams and fantasies that create and recreate the old metaphors that still serve to guide us to our integrated and evolved selves. Our deep psyches are always striving to challenge us to integrate the bits and pieces we think we are, to integrate and resolve the conflicts within, and to rally the new forces that are freed when we achieve even a little more integration.

And so, we keep moving. We do not remain stuck. We do not remain afraid, bored, endlessly restless and never satisfied.

Do we reach a final destination? I don’t know. I do know that we can keep on living a vibrant life of meaning. We can find fulfillment not once but many times as we move on our path.
