The comments and forum sections are working now. Please feel free to resume your discussions and start new ones. And please, please, please, if you encounter any difficulty on the site or have any questions, let me know.
We are still working on the behind the scenes machinery of this amazing joomla system. Little glitches will probably occur. I think of the vehicle that carries our communications to each other as the Star ship Enterprise. :) It does wondrous things and takes us to new worlds of awareness, all in the spirit of recovery, healing and development.
And..... "Scottie," the tech man, always had a job to do in order to keep the complex and interrelated systems functioning smoothly.
Well, "Scottie" is at work now, making this site more efficient, friendly and powerful so you and I can continue our recovery work and our journey to a better life.
If you have any comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section here.
I'm so glad we are back!

Yes, it is better. Thank you for letting me know your experience. We're all learning. I just posted an article. But I can't figure out how to post the illustration to go with it.
I believe the old comments for each post are still listed. The "old-forum" will show up in a couple of days.
Turns out that the designers of joomla didn't write in a way to transfer the forum posts. And the new designers don't have the information to make that happen.
The bright side is that the designers are delighted to make contact with my website designer, [censored]://geekchick.biz. She's amazing and has all the info the joomla designers need. They may rewrite the program using geekchic's info to get us and others past forum posts.
No guarantee, but it's possible.
Meanwhile, learning something new brings us to beginner mind - a great place for recovery work.
Didn't understand all in your post. But I am glad you got the "Scottie" reference!
What's the hope blog?
typing this on my phone it works!
So can I ask what the grey 1 inch transparent bar on the bottom is? I noticed it wasn't on one page (I think when I did a search) but it seems to be on the res of the pagest. There's a "/" on the top left side side but it doesn't seem to do anything and the bar doesn't seem to do anything but make my viewing area smaller. Maybe Im the only one who has it?
LOVE that you are giving us the ability to format our comments! Thank you!
I hope you have figured out that Jennifer Armstrong is my computer guru. I'm delighted that she is answering your questions!
Laura, R: I'm glad you love the formatting option.
i cant seem to figure my way around the forum yet!!!.... am i correct in thinking there are currently no topics or........
Thanks
JAN
One thing on the old site that I found really helpful was the little view of a snippet of the last comment on the forum. That helped me figure out whether I was up on my reading or behind.
Susie, I am using Internet explorer 9. The grey transparent bar shows on the main page and when I look at comments, but seems that after I post a comment, it disappears... at least for that page. So it's kind of random, but I don't have it on any other websites.
ok, i see where Joanna replied to a forum post on "anger and resentment", but I cannot find the post anywhere...the original post, nor her reply...i feel like I am going in circles between the forum page and the blog page...lost...
Wow Jennifer, it worked! Thanks! i don't feel like I'm watching a widescreen movie on a regular screen anymore!!
I found the anger and resentment forum posts:
[censored]://eatingdisorderrecovery.net/index.php/forum/6-adult-women-tell-your-story-and-share-your-recove/12-anger-and-resentment#12
But I can't find them again. At least we know they are up there and findable. So we are making progress.
Thank you so much for your patience as we work through the kinks in this transition.
Since we lost everything from the past 24 hr's ish and I did a lot of writing (which i don't really want to recreate), maybe Joanna would like to write something on my forum topic of Shame. No one was responding anyway but I'm still very interested in the topic. :-)
Forum is working properly. You can pick up the threads of your past discussions by going to the "old forum" where you can see your posts.
We lost a lot of data from between Sept.7 and today. I'm so sorry.
For those of you who are interested, the internet has changed considerably since the "good old days," of just a decade ago. Now everything has to be created with an eye to the horrible bots, the spammers who can play havoc with a site just for fun.
Setting up forums and comment sections of a website requires incredibly detailed and meticulous attention while putting in complex systems. The concept is understandable but the actual mechanics are far beyond me.
The bottom line is that we want you to be free to post on the comments and on the forum without much of a delay. We want you to be able to respond to what others say as well as the content I write. AND we want to prevent a spammer with a neurotic and sadistic sense of power from posting 10,000 comments or forum posts in a half an hour.
Servers can't handle that and cleaning it up afterwards is not simple.
It's frustrating to have your work disappear from this site. I know. Mine disappeared too, from front and back end.
But, please know, my tech person is working hard every day to make this site right for all of us.
Thank you for hanging in with us.
Now all the blog posts are open to receive comments. So you can search, read, think and respond throughout the blog section.
Oh Joanna- I so get it and had the same problem with a new website i did not long ago- some horrific spammers came out of nowhere- sickening - how sad to have such a life/work ?
Anyway keep going, and thanks for keeping us up to date with whats happening- Will pop in again in a weeks time!
Keep smiling
