Please help with your ideas: Invitation to Brainstorm on Inspirational Newsletter Titles

Providing a steady stream of inspiration and support to help you start and maintain your recovery work is my goal.

I've been strong on support but want to increase inspiration.  Too many of you have shared that you have limited vision about what is really possible in your lives when you live a life in recovery.  You want positive examples of hope and real possibility. So I'm going to create a newsletter, and I need your help.

My guru on all things internet and technology, Jenni at geekchic, says it's best to ask you to sign up for one or all of four choices. That way you get the content you want and don't have to deal with information that may be great but not your particular interest.  I'm working on titles that describe different realms of information, although some may overlap. 

Which four do you like best?  What titles would like to see added?  Please let me know.  I'm creating this newsletter project for you.

 

1.    Overcoming obstacles to recovery

2.    Recovery exercises to do any day at almost any time

3.    Creating a personal environment that supports recovery

4.    Recovery issues raised in press,  social media and private

communication.

Oooh a newsletter to help support recovery sounds fabulous! Choosing 4 headings is really difficult though...I'm just trying to think what I've needed most help with and what I've struggled with the most on my journey so far, and then maybe relate that back to the heading choices...

Relationships is a big one...so definitely no5

no3 is good too, as I've had to work on finding a place where I can truly relax which has meant redecorating a room, learning to ask for time out for personal space and time for reflection, and now I'm going a step further and trying to create a space that replicates a place I go to in my head that feels warm and calm, and respectful, and loving to help me to access that place and those feelings more easily.

Something that would help to help you keep hold of the strength and courage to trust and believe in yourself would be good.

And I'm guessing something that would keep you focussed post-therapy too, well the whole living post-therapy side of things really

Finding your own identity during recovery (As Ed feels like your only ID and can be what you only feel safe with)so finding who you are without Ed.
Future Goals( that are achievable)
Recovery stories.
Dealing with emotions during recovery ( as they do return when your body is at a healthier weight and it can be frightening)

I like 1, 4 and 5. For me, personally, number one is a big issue. I think the thing that still stands in my way is whether or not I really want to get better. I don't want to feel this way but I don't want to eat more and gain weight. I like controlling my weight too much.

1,3,6,8 this may tie into one of the above, but maybe Reasons for Recovery. I know that I want to be healthy and well, but sometimes I need a reason outside of myself to motivate me on the days that I am not.

1,3,4. My top item is #1. Maybe something like "words of wisdom" where you share short recovery messages that we can put on post-its or say to ourselves. I second the idea of something on dealing with emotions...I'm afraid of everything these days.

I am new on this site, so I am still figuring out my way around it. This sounds like a good idea, but... hard to choose...
I've been dealing with this ed stuff for quite some time, and I feel like I am almost done, no more energy to look for this elusive recovery. What's worse - no more motivation.
I liked the blog about Trey, but, answering some of the questions posted at the end of it, I can say that I do not see myself loving myself more than a puppy. I LOVE animals, I can cry over an abused animal, but I have no more tears left to cry for myself... I will do anything I can to help a suffering animal, but I do not think I can do that for myself...

so, the reason I am saying all of the above, I guess, it to say that, probably, The Obstacles to Recovery would be my choice.
I believe that motivation must come from within, but reading about other obstacles and ways of overcoming them will, hopefully, be helpful.
So, I'd choose Overcoming Obstacles to Recovery

I hope you stick with this supportive environment. Somedays, it is the glue that holds me together. I am sure most everyone here can relate to what you have written ~ either presently or in the past. Don't try too hard to be fixed...just know that you are trying enough just by seeking support and listening to our stories, and sharing yours. I am glad you are here. Welcome!

Thank you for these great suggestions.

I'm still mulling but I think "Overcoming obstacles to recovery," "Inspiring Women - Inspiring Lives," "Creating a personal environment that supports recovery" and "Recovery issues raised in press, social media and private communication." are the four that are pulling ahead.

I think it's possible to include family and parenting issues within almost all these headings as issues arise. I'm looking for titles that capture the needs of people in recovery AND give me lots of room for writing to the issues that will come up unexpectedly.

Part of my job and part of your job too in living and in working through recovery issues is to expect the unexpected. Don't brace for it. Prepare for it. Welcome it. The unexpected will come. And.....plenty of the unexpected is pretty wonderful.

Thank you so much for your ideas and for sharing your perspective.
