Eating Disorder Questions

Students of psychology, from grade six through graduate school, write me asking for help with their research papers on eating disorders.

Most want fast help in getting through an assignment, but some genuinely want information to help them understand eating disorders and what it takes to recover.

Questions are gifts

Their questions are gifts because they open my mind yet again and allow me to range over the field of eating disorder treatment and recovery. As I explore their questions I continually discover what I know, what I think I know, what I do not know, what I know or knew to be incorrect and what I wish I knew.

Today I received a question about treatment from a graduate student in the field of psychology who wants one day to work with people who have eating disorders, especially women who are high achievers in sports.

Her request inspired my next post.
